Lloyd James Sauce Sr.

Lloyd James Sauce Sr., 67, a resident of Ricohoc, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015 at Teche Regional Medical Center. Lloyd was born on January 1, 1948 in Morgan City the son of Robert J. and Gertrude E. Duval Sauce. Lloyd was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed crawfishing, fishing, and hunting the land. He was a tug boat captain for 34 years with Garber Brothers and Double Eagle. He enjoyed being at the Wax Lake boat landing with his best friend Lester Aucoin as they fulfilled their duties as caretakers of the boat ramp. He enjoyed working on outboard motors and everyone would bring him their motor to work on and most of the time he never charged a dime because just loved helping people. Of all the things Lloyd did in his life spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren was what he loved the most. He especially loved telling his grandchildren stories, some of those stories were scary but most of them were silly stories that made his grandchildren laugh. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Mary Richard Sauce of Ricohoc; four children, Peggy Sue Pike, Lloyd J. Sauce Jr. and wife Dina and Clayborne K. Sauce, Eddie Norman Jr. and wife Kacy all of Ricohoc; seven grandchildren, Donald Melancon III, Jesica Sauce, Dillan Melancon, Brody Sauce, Dakota Sauce, Autumn Norman, Kelsey Norman; four great grandchildren, Carson Cox, Carter Cox, Madison Melancon, Carolann Guerin. Lloyd is also survived by one sister, Dale Businelle; two brothers, Robert Sauce and Clyde Sauce. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Barbara Ann Meredith; one brother, Francis Sauce. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Twin City Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Twin City Funeral Home with the visitation resuming from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Following the services Lloyd will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
