Erina Mae Thomson, 66, a resident of Amelia, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2015 at Ochsner Medical Center.
Erina was born on December 29, 1948 in Morgan City the daughter of Bermingham "Vic" Hebert and Pearl McDaniel Hebert.
Erina was a faithful parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church where she served as a catechism teacher and youth counselor. She was a kind hearted person who would always put others and their needs before her own. Erina worked in the aviation field for many years traveling the states as a purchasing agent and parts locator. It was working in this field where she met her husband Paul. She was a licensed cosmetologist working in Lake Charles for many years. She was a talented cook and was gifted at decorating cakes and floral arrangements. Erina dedicated the last several years of her life to being a caregiver for her husband and mother. She was an organ donor and because of her donation six people received the gift of sight due to her donation.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her two children, Ramus A. Martin and wife Michelle of Metairie, Eppie Broussard and husband Marvin of New Iberia; her mother, Pearl McDaniel Hebert of Amelia; nine grandchildren, Beau Broussard, Taylor Broussard, Dustin Lowe Sr., Bruno Lowe Sr., Erina LeBlanc, Jenson Lasseigne, Maggie Martin; twelve great grandchildren. Erina is also survived by three brothers, Kenneth Hebert Sr. and wife Cyretha, William Hebert, Edwin Hebert and wife Becky; one sister, Yvonne Morrison; numerous God children, nieces and nephews.
Erina was preceded in death by her father; husband Paul Thomson; one infant daughter.
Pallbearers will be Ferdinand Cortez, Olan Cobb, Stephen Hebert, Dustin Lowe Sr., Bruno Lowe and Taylor Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Hebert, William Hebert, Edwin Hebert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at St. Andrew Catholic Church with Father Joe Chacko officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Twin City Funeral Home with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. The visitation will resume from 9:00 a.m. until dismissal at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given in Erina's name to St. Andrew Catholic Church.
