Jeanette Billiot Crochet

Jeanette Billiot Crochet, 80, a resident of Morgan City passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at Teche Regional Medical Center. Jeanette was born on December 6, 1934 in Creole Bayou the daughter of Whitney J. Billiot Sr. and Nola Aucoin Billiot. Jeanette enjoyed her trips to the casino where she could be seen for hours playing the slot machines. She enjoyed going over to her sister's house to play cards, and she loved her trips to the zoo. She was a devoted fan of the Saints and LSU Tigers. Of all the things that she enjoyed doing in her life the thing she loved the most was spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by five children, Ray A. Crochet, Jr. and wife Wendy of Alta Loma, California, Kerry Crochet and wife JoAnn of Morgan City, Dale Crochet and wife Cheryl of Bayou Vista, Pamela Crochet of Morgan City, Mark Crochet of Morgan City; nine grandchildren, Melissa C. Babin and husband Cy of Morgan City, Ray A. Crochet III and wife Wesley of Woodstock, Georgia, Erica C. Suire and husband Jeff of Patterson, Kara C. Cavalier and husband Grant of Belle River, Micah Crochet of Nebraska, Chris Crochet of Bayou Vista, Kayne Crochet and wife Meagan of Morgan City, Krista Crochet of Morgan City, Brandon Crochet of Thibodaux. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren, Skyla Crochet, Haley Crochet, Bryce Babin, Claire Babin, Parker Babin, Mallory Crochet, Cade Suire, Alyssa Cavalier, Logan Cavalier, Makenzie Crochet, Makaela Crochet, Kasen Cole, Madeleine Price; three sisters, Doris Landry, Joyce Romero and Brenda Alleman and husband Lawrence; one brother, Clayton Billiot and wife Susan; one sister-in-law, Jeanette Billiot. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Whitney J. Billiot Sr. and Nola Aucoin Billiot Wilson; husband, Ray A. Crochet Sr.; one brother, Whitney J. "Sonny" Billiot Jr.; one sister, Betty Jean Billiot. Visitation will held from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial being held at 11:30 a.m. Following Mass Jeannette will be laid to rest next to her husband of 57 years Mr. Ray, in the Morgan City Cemetery.
