Benjamin Griffin

Benjamin “Ben” Griffin, 72, a resident of Berwick and a native of Carrolton, GA, passed away in Jefferson on Saturday, February 21, 2009. Ben enjoyed cooking, reading, and taking walks and fishing. Ben loved to make people laugh and never met a stranger. Ben was proud to have served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Ben was a member of the VFW and the American Legion and also the AARP. Ben is survived by one daughter, Patricia Griffin, his mother, Christine Proctor Creel, one sister, Patricia Sheffield, his companion, Mazie Rebardi of Berwick, one stepdaughter, Mary Jones, two stepsons, Daniel Hebert and Henry Hebert. Ben is also survived by two grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild. Ben was preceded in death by his father, Perry Walter Griffin and his stepfather, Max Creel. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Twin City Funeral Home from 5pm until 9pm. The East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad will conduct services at 6pm at the funeral home.
