Wilson Joseph "Jack" Tassin August 24, 1929 October 9, 2015 Wilson "Jack" Tassin, 86, a native of Edgard, former resident of Morgan City and resident of Abbeville passed away on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Jack was the most kind, generous, loving and unselfish person anyone has ever known. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather that enjoyed every minute he spent with his family. Jack loved music, gardening, hunting and fishing and never meeting a stranger. Jack could share some of the greatest stories from his past when he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten. Jack is survived by his three daughters: Jackie Benson of Abbeville, Penny Crappell and husband, Gerald of Morgan City and Delaine Henry and husband, Mark of Abbeville; one son, Randy Tassin of Abbeville; ten grandchildren: Beth, Joseph, Jack, Mark, Casie, Nikki, Kelly, Mark, Maddie and Olivia; ten great grandchildren: Jillian, Luke, Alyssa, Zack, Emily, Alex, Morgan, Madison, Colin and Nate; one brother, Nelson Tassin of Mandeville and one sister, Adelene Melancon of Bayou Vista along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Tassin; his parents, Francis and Cora Tassin; two children: John C. Sellers "J.C." and Kathryn Sellers; two sisters: Mildred Tassin Rios and Eveline Tassin Panvelle. There will be graveside service on Saturday, October 17, 2015 in the Morgan City Cemetery beginning at 12pm. He will be inurned with full military honors provided by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad.
