Colin Shea O’Neill, 43 of Morgan City, passed away Friday evening, October 9, 2015 at Teche Regional Medical Center. He was born October 15, 1972 in La Jolla CA, the son of Gregory O’Neill and Melanie Campo O’Neill.
Colin was loved by all who knew him. As a professional, he was a skilled Systems Administrator and Network Engineer, and all around technology guru. An avid reader, he had an insatiable desire for knowledge. If anyone had a technology or computer question, friends and family knew Colin would find the answer or fix the problem. When someone asked him for a favor, he usually said yes. He was a loyal son, friend, nephew, and cousin; and his greatest joy was to spend time with his fiancé, Maria Freia Castro.
Colin will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all those who were close to him. He is survived by his mother Melanie Campo O’Neill of Kenner, Louisiana; his father, Gregory O’Neill of Morgan City, and maternal grandmother, Merrill Lamury Campo; his aunt Lisa Campo Mire, uncles Ray Campo, Jr., Don Campo, and Mark Campo; Colin’s fiancé Maria F. Castro and her daughter Cassidy, cousins Jeri Mire Wood, David Mire, Danielle Campo Clark, Emily McKay, Ashley Campo, Shawn Campo, aunts Gina Mancuso and Phyllis Campo.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ray Lewis Campo, Sr., paternal grandfather, Gerald Robert O’Neill,his paternal grandmother, Lucille Austermann O’Neill, and his cousin Allison Campo McKay.
Visitation will held at Twin City Funeral Home on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 4-8pm.
