Today we celebrate the homecoming of our father George Henry Dupuy Sr. into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and along side his return into the long awaited arms of his adored and loving wife our mother Elsie Aucoin Dupuy.
Born on July 13, 1932, passing into eternity November 29, 2015 at 2:45 p.m. at home surrounded by his loving family and his constant faithful “lil doggie”, as he called her Macy.
Our daddy was indeed the “Patriarch” of the Dupuy family, leaving behind a Legacy of “What the meaning of love and family was.” Daddy fought the most courageous battle he ever faced after losing his wife five years ago. It is safe to say, “He passed away from a broken heart.” So we choose to celebrate in this joy and are comforted in our grief at their reunion in Heaven at last.
George is survived by his four adoring children, son George Dupuy Jr. and wife Vernet; daughters, Darlene Cook and husband Scott Cook, Gwen Ahrent and husband Jeffrey Ahrent Sr., and Mae Beth Morgan; three sisters, Pat Broussard, Ann Francis, and Lynn Mogers; two brothers, William Dupuy and Homer Dupuy Jr.; one sister-in-law, Mary Willis “Our Meanie”. His prized possession were his grandchildren, Terry John Vaughn II, Jacob Dupuy, Shawn Dupuy, “Deanie Boy” Morgan, Abel Lee Nadolski Sr, Jeffrey P. Ahrent II, George Dupuy III, Leslie Wade, Tyra Newcombe, Crystal Mai, and Tess E. Ahrent. He is also survived by 27 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by “The love of his life” Elsie Dupuy, precious son, Clinton Joseph Dupuy; parents, Flavia and Homer Dupuy Sr.; siblings, Ulyss Dupuy, Jimmy Dupuy, Louis Dupuy, Gerald Dupuy and Bernadette Gros.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Twin City Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Twin City Funeral Home with the visitation resuming from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Following services George will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
“The Dancing Shoes”
We’ve hung up our dancing shoes for a place by daddy’s side. We are learning about life since the day momma died. He had taught us to listen when words were not spoken. To feel his pain, while his life is broken. He never complains, or even asks why.
But not a day goes by when he does not cry. His most quoted words are “How long has momma been dead? We tell him again, as he drops his poor head. We try to comfort him, while weeping silent ourselves. As the tissue box lies empty…again on the shelf.
We rub his back and kiss his face as he asks to go lay down. We tell him as we are tucking him in, “Daddy God’s got you a crown.” Sometimes our heart falls to the floor as we turn and walk away. Then other times lay beside him and all we do is pray. When we find ourselves despaired, we think of brighter days. The days when he was full of life and busy in his ways. Remembering how silly and fun and much he loved us all. How he was the first to be here even before we called. As we journey with our precious pop on his long last days he is here. We know there’s a lesson somewhere in every shed tear.We will never forget him and his undying love. Our daddy our angel from Heaven above and when that time comes, we will dance once again. And pick up our life for our daddy, our friend.
Our dancing shoes are now polished and bright, because daddy and momma are dancing tonight. Oh what a celebration, the beautiful reunion must be taking place. We can only imagine the joy on his face. We know Jesus, said, George come right on in! Elsie is waiting to join you again. I have been with you, and present by your side. I’ve collected those tears everytime that you cried. I knew you were needed there, even though none could see part of the plan, you are precious to me.
Your job was well done, I have your reward. You blessed my name even when it was hard. So welcome home George, come again with your bride, for she was not lost, always by your side! Dance, Dance, Dance! Eternal joy is here! I will give my peace to all you hold dear! Good Job, well done, my good and faithful servant.
Love,
Jesus
