George Joseph Aucoin Sr, 78, a resident of Bayou Vista, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 17, 1937 in Morgan City, the son of Adolf and Mabel Aucoin.
George was a devout man who served the Lord every day. He faithfully cheered on his New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers. He enjoyed crawfish boils and family cookouts. George's memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his adoring wife, Betty Aucoin; mother, Mabel Aucoin Pousson; two sons, George Aucoin Jr and companion Sussanna Selvage of Bayou Vista, Glendon Aucoin and wife Stacy of Patterson; two daughters, Connie Menard and husband Frankie of Patterson, Tessie Fontenot and fiance Jimmy Diaz of Morgan City; two step sons, Paul LaFleur and wife Paula of Bayou Vista, Elridge Carlin Jr. of Charenton; five step daughters, Connie Bourque and husband Jimmy Jr. of Coteau Holmes, Belinda Daigle and husband Gilbert of Franklin, Nannette Robin and husband James of Lafayette, Tonia Cole and husband Scott of Charenton; Shannon Pontiff and husband Mike of Franklin; two brothers, Vincent Aucoin of Bayou Vista, and Lionel Aucoin and wife Mary of Shriever; one sister, Linda Durapau of Bayou Vista; twenty six grandchildren, fifteen step grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, fifteen step great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and two faithful companions, Lulu and Sissy.
George is preceded in death by his father, Adolph Aucoin Sr.; brothers, Adolph Aucoin Jr. and Adam Aucoin;
sister, Vina Morvant; daughters, Roxanna Aucoin and Darlene Aucoin Terrebonne; son, Chris Aucoin; step son, James LaFleur; and step daughter, Chantelle Conyers.
Visitation services will be Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 5pm until 9pm and resume Monday, January 18, 2016 from 9am until service time at Twin City Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2pm at St. Bernadette Catholic Church of Bayou Vista. George will be laid to rest in Morgan City Cemetery following mass.
Pall bearers are Glendon Aucoin, George Aucoin Jr., Lionel Aucoin, Vincent Aucoin, Draco LaFleur, and Ledend LeFleur. Honorary pall bearers are Elridge Carlin, Brock Bourque, and Austin Rivera.
