Shirley Mae Millet, 66, a resident of Morgan City, passed away on January 24, 2016 surrounded by her family at Ochsner Medical Center.
She was born on September 7, 1949 in Morgan City, the daughter of John Mire Sr. and Lenola Giroir Mire.
Shirley was a kind, gentle soul that put smiles on the faces of everyone around her. She was a hard worker who loved her job and work family at National Technologies. Shirley loved her church family, enjoyed reading and lived for her children and grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son, Bruce Millet Jr. and wife Sue of Morgan City; one daughter, Melissa Millet of Coden, Al; two sisters, Nancy Breaux and husband Whiley of Eunice, Lisa Fontenot of Morgan City; four grandchildren, Lauren Pearce and husband Jacob, Tatiana Brobbel, Dayanera Brobbel, Duncan Begley; two great grandchildren; Brooklyn Grace, Zelda Rae; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, John Mire Sr. and Lenola Mire; two brothers, John "Butch" Mire Jr., Melvin Mire Sr.; and one sister, Alice Mae Mire.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Higher Ground Family Church in Stephensville.
