Freddie Lancon, 61, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Teche Regional Medical Center.
He was a Catholic by faith.
Freddie was a workaholic and a perfectionist and was helpful to many people. Being a family man, he loved and enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He told a good story and was a practical joker on many who knew him. He loved a good joke, as well as crossword puzzles, 50’s music, especially Conway Twitty and Billy Joe Royal, and baking, especially mini-ha-ha cake. In his more then twenty five years of law enforcement, Freddie was well respected as an officer.
Freddie is survived by two sons, Kelly Lancon and Shane Lancon, both of Morgan City, and one daughter, Shanna L. Bryan and her husband Charles Jr. of Patterson. He is also survived by a stepson, Richard Firmin Jr. and his wife, Christin, off Dallas, Texas, and a stepdaughter, Regina Firmin of Morgan City. Also surviving him are three brothers, Donald Lancon and his wife, Gayle of Berwick, David Lancon, and Howard Lancon of Morgan City, three sisters Gayle Landry, of Morgan City, Patricia Francis and her husband Wilbur, of Morgan City, and Darlene Lester and her husband Robert of Morgan City. Freddie is also survived by 10 grandchildren and very good friends “Terry” Holcombe, Steve Veal and Gary Dantin.
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie Alfred Sr. and Hattie Lou Pittman Lancon and one brother Freddie Alfred Lancon Jr.
The visitation will be held April 30, 2009 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 9pm, resuming Friday, May 1, 2009 at Twin City Funeral Home from 8am until 10am.
Freddie will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
