Esther Landry Marino, 89, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Morgan City Health Care Center.
She was born in Bayou L'Ourse on August 15, 1926, the daughter of Cleopha and Agatha Landry.
Esther was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She and the late Charles Marino Sr. were the former owners of MC Restaurant and Charlie's Snack Bar.
She is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her three children, Charles J. Marino Jr and wife Felicia of Colorado Springs, Co, Johnny A. Marino and wife Ellen of Mandeville, La, Hope Johnson and husband David of Berwick; seven grandchildren, Leslie Davis, Lara Kronenfeld, Katherine Hoffman, Stephanie Yamkovenko, Kevin Marino, Mallory Fuhrer, Paige Johnson; seven great grandchildren, Miles Davis, Emily Davis, Luke Kronenfeld, Grady Hoffman, Reese Hoffman, Blakely Fuhrer, Miller Fuhrer; sister, Betty Rink and husband James of Morgan City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Esther is preceded in death by husband, Charles J. Marino Sr; parents, Cleopha and Agatha Landry; brothers, Emmette Landry, Percy Landry, Elmore Landry; sisters, Zoe Landry, Gladys Giroir, Ruby Pete, and Elma Pennison.
Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 9am until Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11am. Esther will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum following Mass.
