David Paul Gorsha, 57, a native of Morgan City and a resident of Lafayette died at his home on Thursday, May 7, 2009. David was a loving, caring person who adored his family and who never knew a stranger. He lived for his next fishing trip with his siblings, he enjoyed hunting, and he loved boating on the bayous, just as his father did before him. David’s life, and the kindness to others, for which he was well known, made an indelible impression on all that knew and loved him.
David is survived by his mother, Lessie Gorsha of Patterson: two brothers and sister-in-laws, Roger and Dianne Gorsha of Austin, TX, and Johnny and Lydia Gorsha of Morgan City; and a sister and brother-in-law, Joy and Robert Jarvis of Stephensville. David is also survived by his stepchildren, Jennifer Sinitiere, Thomas Sinitiere, John Sinitiere and Christine Gallet, his step-grandchildren, Collin and Kennedy Sinitiere and Hanna and Haley Gallet, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
David was preceded in death by his father, John Gorsha Jr. and by by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
The visitation will be held Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Twin City Funeral Home from 1pm until 3pm. The funeral service will commence at 2pm.
