Ruby Mae Adams Written passed away at home on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2009, at the age of 87. She was a daughter of the late Clivy Adams and Louise Champagne Adams, a resident of Morgan City and a member of Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church.
A beloved mother and devoted servant of God, Ruby was highly regarded for her kindness, generosity and dedication to family. She was also a loving grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend whose spirit, strength and support will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Ruby was a homemaker who greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing alongside her father and husband during her early years living on Bayou Schaffer and the Inter-coastal. These were her fondest memories and she rejoiced in recounting her stories on the bayou with family and friends.
She is survived by her children Woodrow Written, Floyd Written, Maxine Martinez and Theda Pojar; siblings Dorothy Dobard, Edmae Landry, Merval Adams, Rosalie Dupre and Eulice Adams; grandchildren Mary Ann Written and fiancée Jesus Ramirez, Sabrina Written and son-in-law Kevin Lord, Thimothy Pojar and Joshua Pojar; great-grandchildren Christopher, Shawn, Kayla and Tiffany Pollard, Bradley, Blake, Brandon, Brett and Brian Pojar and Lindsey Lord; and great-great grandchildren Cameron Pollard and Serenity Coco.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph W. Written; parents Clivy and Louise Adams; sisters Beaulea Estay and Rouberta Lacoste, grandsons Floyd Written Jr. and Jason Written; and sons-in-law Lawrence Newago and Silvio Martinez.
Visitation will be held from 6pm to 9pm p.m., on Wednesday, May 13, and 9am to 1:30pm on Thursday, May 14, at Twin City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 13 at 2pm. Rev. Lamar C. Oliver, officiating. Interment will take place in the Morgan City Cemetery.
