Carl Claxton Ratliff Jr, 63, a resident of Los Lunas, New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in his home.
He was born on September 4, 1952 in Robstown, Texas, the son of Carl C. Ratliff Sr and Shirley S. Ratliff.
Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend that will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He selflessly served in the Navy as Sea and Air Rescue in the Helicopter Squadron. He was a member of the Single Action Shooters Society where he dressed in period clothing and shoot period rifles competitively. Carl enjoyed hunting as well.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Donna Ratliff of Los Lunas, NM; son, William C. Ratliff and wife Dawn of Pierre Part; daughter, Michelle Ziskind and husband Brandon of Austin, Tx; brother, William Ratliff and wife Dottie of Chauvin; and two grandchildren.
Carl is preceded in death by his grandparents, Sheffield and Ouida Swearingen, and parents, Carl Ratliff Sr and Shirley Ratliff.
Visitation will be held at Twin City Funeral Home on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 9am until the Funeral Service at 11am. Carl will be laid to rest in Morgan City Cemetery with Military Honors given by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad.
