Patrick Canty

Patrick William Canty, 58, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away at his residence, Monday, June 8, 2009. Patrick was an outgoing man, he enjoyed camping & fishing and was involved with The Boy Scouts of America. Patrick had a green thumb, he loved gardening, and some of his favorite things were cooking (especially Cajun food), 60’s Rock & Roll music and decorating for the holidays. Patrick was a patient and loving husband and father; he was a very kind and caring man that took pleasure in helping others. Patrick is survived by his wife Sherry Lile Canty of Morgan City, two sons, Shaun Peyton and Evan Jeffrey Canty of Morgan City, one daughter, Laura Beth Canty of Morgan City, one brother, Merlin Canty Jr and his wife Colette of Morgan City, two sisters, Carolyn Duay and her husband Wybra of Morgan City and Linda Russo and her husband Louis of Berwick. Patrick was preceded in death by parents, Merlin Edward Canty Sr. and Theresa Michel, his grandparents, Lawrence & Myrtilia Michel and William & Orelia Canty, one brother, Michael Canty, one nephew, Ben Russo and great nephew, Michael Carpenter. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 09, 2009 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 9pm, resuming Wednesday, June 10, 2009 from 9am until 10am. A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 10am at Twin City Funeral Home. Patrick will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
