Nilda Perrera Bergeron, 95, a resident of Lafayette and a native of Napoleonville, passed away, Wednesday, June 10, 2009. Nilda enjoyed watching soap operas, traveling, and music & dancing and taking care of others. Nilda was a great cook and her specialty was “Chicken Stew” that she shared with family and friends.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Nancy Bergeron Russo and Willow Bergeron Killion; 2 sons: Eric Bergeron, Jr. and wife Diane, and Terry Bergeron and wife Catherine. Nilda is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
Nilda was preceded in death by her husband, Eric Bergeron Sr., her parents, one brother and three sisters.
Pallbearers: Peter Russo, Thomas Russo, Michael Bergeron, Philip Bonner, Cameron Canard, Chaz Russo. Honorary Pallbears: Ricky Williams and Dr. Robert Blereau.
The visitation will be held Friday, June 12, 2009 at Twin City Funeral Home from 9am until 11am. A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 11am. Nilda will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her “other” family at Bethany for the generous love and care they provided.
