Roland Leo Bourgeois Jr., 67, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Teche Regional Medical Center.
Roland was born on July 1, 1949 in Morgan City, the son of Roland Leo Bourgeois Sr. and Viola Jeanette Andrews Bourgeois.
Roland was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and a friend. Serving in the oil and gas industry for 45 years, Roland cherished every moment he got to spend with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to be out in the yard with his wife Julie working in the yard or tending to the garden. Roland’s heart reached to the heavens while he was here on earth and he will be missed by all who knew him.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Julie Mire Bourgeois of Morgan City; two daughters, Toni LaHaye and husband Mark of Thibodaux and Lindsay Lindsey and husband Wayne of Patterson; four grandchildren, Reagan Lindsey, Ava LaHaye, Arden LaHaye and Robbie Lindsey; one brother, Grant Bourgeois and wife Gladys of Bayou Vista; four sisters, Denise Davis and husband Bob of Oklahoma, Karen Bourgeois Hebert of Morgan City, Paula Adams of Morgan City, Cheryl Johnson and husband Gerard of Minnesota.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents Roland L. Bourgeois Sr. and Viola Andrews Bourgeois; one brother, Keith Bourgeois; one sister, Andrea Bourgeois.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Twin City Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Gowan officiating; a visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time the service at 2:00 p.m. Following the funeral service Roland will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
