Sterling LaCoste a native of Morgan City, Louisiana, passed away August 1, 2016. Sterling was born on December 12, 1931, to the late Jack LaCoste and Lillian Adams LaCoste.
He was employed by Garber Brothers for many years as a boat builder. In the early years, at times he worked two jobs to support his family. It was always family first! After retiring, he built model boats for his grandchildren. Sterling loved spending time with family, and enjoyed bring them hunting, fishing and shrimping. He was a faithful member and past board member and Sunday school director of the Berwick United Pentecostal Church. He loved the Lord with his whole his heart.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Ann Vining Lacoste; four children, Sterling LaCoste, Jr. and wife Gloria; Virginia LaCoste Scott and husband, Paul; Annette LaCoste Borel and husband, Troy; Sandra LaCoste Rodriguez and husband, Don; 10 grandchildren, Brandon, Jeremiah, Daniel, Steven, Stephanie, Blake, Kimberly, Brittany, Kristen and Kaitlyn; and 15 great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Sterling is survived by his sister Shirline LaCoste Amador and husband Charles and three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Giroir LaCoste, Pat Sheehan LaCoste, and Linda Flack LaCoste.
Sterling was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Agnolia, Ara, Elda and Ella; his brothers, Delma, John, Kenneth, Aubrey, Clayton, and Russell; and his infant son Michael.
The family would like to extend their appreciation for the love and care given to Sterling during his illness to Heart of Hospice and Bayou Home Care.
Active Pallbearers will be Brandon Scott, Daniel Scott, Steven Scott, Blake Rodriguez, Bruce Clifton and Jordan Arnold. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chandler Scott, Maden Rodriguez, Irvin Fretz, Brandon Varnum and Jeremiah Scott.
Visitation will be observed Tuesday, August 2, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service which will take place at 11:00 a.m. at Berwick United Pentecostal Church. Sterling will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following services.
