Amelia Protich

Amelia P. Protich, 82, a resident of Morgan City and a native of Delacroix Island, LA, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 in Houma. Amelia enjoyed playing bingo, painting, going to the beach, watching her soaps on TV and cooking, especially seafood. Amelia loved family gatherings. Amelia was a Catholic by faith and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Amelia is survived by one son, Leo Protich Jr. and his wife Karen of Patterson, one daughter, Teresa P. Cheramie of Bayou Vista, two brothers, Leroy Perez of New Orleans and Ernest Rodrigue and his wife Charlene of New Orleans. Four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive Amelia. Amelia was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Protich Sr., her parents, Miguel and Bertha Rodrigue Perez and four brothers. Visitation will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church on Friday, July 10, 2009 from 8am until 10am. A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 10am with Father Danny Poche officiating. Amelia will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
