Ed Warren Dilsaver, born in North Carolina, spent most of his early life in St. Augustiine, Fla., and made Morgan City his residence since 1950, died at Teche Regional Medical Center on Sunday July 12,2009, at the age of eighty three.
Ed graduated from Florida State University where he played on their first football team. After settling down in Morgan City, Ed went to work for Mobil Oil Co. He retired from Mobil Oil Co. and Transco Energy and did consulting work for many years. Ed was an active member of Pharr Chapel Methodist Church as he taught Sunday School, and was treasurer and also Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Ed is survived by his wife of fifty seven years, Tess Rock Dilsaver, two daughters, Mary Wolfe and her husband, Jim, of Bryan, Texas, and Edie Skiles, and her husband, Jimmy, of Berwick, La. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Patrick Skiles and his wife Emily, of Patterson, La,Brett Skiles and his wife Heather of Spring,Texas, his “favorite” granddaughter, Mary Kathryn Skiles, of Berwick, La. Andrew Wolfe and Michael Wolfe of Bryan, Texas. Also surviving him are five precious great grandchildren, Peyton, Hailey, and Emma Kate Skiles of Patterson, La. , and Luke and Matthew Skiles of Spring, Texas.
Ed is also survived by one brother, John Dilvsaver, and his wife Catherine, of Stephensville, La., two sisters, Betty Earle and her husband Bill, of Orlando, Fla., and Virginia Hill and her husband, Herb, of Tampa, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parente, John and Jewel Dilsaver, three brothers, Floyd, Roy, and David Dilsaver, and one sister, Margaret Adams.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday morning July 14, 2009, at 10 AM and continue until 1PM at Pharr Chapel Methodist Church. The funeral service will begin at 1PM., conducted by Rev Lamar Oliver. Interment will be in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Pharr Chapel Methodist Memorial Fund.
