Delta Gaspard Duval

January 19, 1924 — July 21, 2009

Delta Gaspard Duval, 85, a resident of Morgan City and a native of Belle River, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at her residence. Delta was a member of Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church, she was a very good cook and enjoyed crocheting, because Delta was an excellent crab meat picker, people would come from all over to buy her crab meat. Most of all Delta loved her family. Delta is survived by her daughter, Janet Businelle and her husband Victor of Bayou Vista, one brother, Prosser Gaspard of Morgan City and one sister Lovenia Gaspard Percle and her husband Clarence of Morgan City, sister-in-law, Juliet Gaspard of Belle River. Six grandchildren; Terry, Jimmy, Dennis and Vincent Businelle, Phyllis Viscardi and Paula Paray, and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive Delta. Delta was preceded in death by her husband Lester Duval, one son, Jimmy Vining, her parents, Gus Sr. and Lydia Gros Gaspard, one brother Gus Gaspard Jr. and one great grandson, and sister-in-law, Olive Gaspard. The visitation will be held at Twin City Funeral Home, Thursday July 23, 2009 from 9:00am until 2:00pm. The funeral services commence at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Lamar Oliver officiating. Delta will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
