Shirley Price Giroir

Shirley Price Giroir, 95, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at Patterson Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born on September 17, 1921 in Morgan City, the daughter of Allen Joseph Price Sr. and Camilla Dugas Price. Shirley was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a longtime member of the Catholic Daughters as well as the Morgan City Garden Club. Shirley was a founding member of the Krewe of Galatea. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by four children, Lynn Giroir and wife Colleen of Poulsbo, Washington, Joy Loupe of Morgan City, Cyrus “Rusty” Giroir Jr. and wife Dianne of Houston, Texas, Rosalind Sloan and husband John of Morgan City; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Joseph Price Sr. and Camilla Dugas Price; husband, Cyrus Giroir Sr.; one son, Dale F. Giroir; one granddaughter, Celeste Loupe; one great grandson, Sean Giroir; one son-in-law, David Loupe; one brother, Allen Price. The family would like to thank the special caregivers for the great care that they gave to Ms. Shirley. A Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Monsignor J. Douglas Courville celebrating the Mass. A memorial visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until Mass time. Shirley will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following Mass.
