Jeannine Claire McJimsey, 50, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 after a very courageous battle with cancer.
Jeannine was born on December 12, 1966 in Houma the daughter of June and Louise Broughton McJimsey.
Jeannine was a very caring person and always took care of her family. Due to her very caring nature Jeannine was a wonderful nurse. Jeannine taught her children to never fear anything. She was always optimistic and positive and you never heard her complain. Jeannine was awesome!
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by four children, Kristi Boudreaux of Bayou Vista, Luke Derise and fiancé Ashley Totten of Morgan City, Shannon Derise and Haidyn Derise both of Bayou Vista; two grandchildren, Jolie Boudreaux and Aubree Derise; one sister, Jan McJimsey and husband Mark Stoltz of New Iberia; three brothers, Roy McJimsey and wife Melinda of Youngsville, Pat McJimsey and wife Sue of Youngsville and Bryan McJimsey and wife Linda of Broussard; numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeannine was preceded in death by her parents, June and Louise Broughton McJimsey; fiancé, Michael Courtney.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Clyde Mahler celebrating Mass. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until Mass time and following Mass Jeannine will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
