Shirley Ann Bailey January 9, 1951 – August 21, 2009 Shirley Ann Bailey, a native of Morgan City, and a resident of Livingston, La., died at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, on Friday August 21, 2009. Shirley loved and lived for her husband, her children and grandchildren who were very special to her She was a very caring person with a big heart, always putting others before herself. Cooking was one of her great joys and she usually made a great chicken stew. Fishing, shopping, traveling, and gardening were some things she loved to do and had an appreciation for the outdoors. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds. She collected any items of Princess Di, Fenton glassware, and ceramic dolls. She loved music and was one of Elvis’ fans. Of all the loves of her life, her family came first. Shirley is survived by her husband, Doyle, two sons, Ernest Edwards and his wife Kristina of Alvin , Texas, and Doyle Bailey Jr. and his wife, Jenniffer of Walker, La. and one daughter Stacie Holbert and her husband Chris of Alvin, Texas. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Blayne, Bryan, Daelynn, Dylan, Chad, Samantha, Haley, Ian, Jessica, Alyssa, Kayla, Sean, and Whitney., her brothers Andy, Douglass, and Jimmy, and sisters, Dora, Barbara, Alberta, Jaynelle, Laura, and Vilvalia. Also surviving are three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Albert and Irma Verrett Aucoin. Visitation will be held Monday, August 24, 2009 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia, La. from 9 AM until 11 AM. Mass of Christian Burial begin at 11AM after which Shirley was laid to rest in the St. Andrew Cemetery in Amelia.
