James Joseph “Jimmy” Premeaux Jr., 55, a resident of Houma and former resident of Morgan City, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.
Jimmy was born on August 22, 1961 in Fort Lewis, Washington, the son of James J. Premeaux Sr. and Lois Yonge Premeaux.
Jimmy was a member of the Krewe of Kajuns in Houma, as well as a member of Houma Jaycees, having served as the State President in 2001 and served as the local president of the Morgan City Jaycees. Jimmy had a love for golf
and throughout the years he played every course on the Audubon Golf Trail with his best friend Arty. In addition to his love of golf, Jimmy was an avid fisherman.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Mona Carlos Premeaux of Houma; step son, Brett Anthony Bergeron; parents, James J. Premeaux Sr. and Lois Yonge Premeaux; three sisters, Catherine Lee and husband James, Cynthia Leger and husband Kenneth, and Christina Albert and husband Lianter; nephews, Brian Lee and wife Jill, Jason Leger, Kenneth Leger and wife Kelly, Michael Lee, Lianter Albert III, and James Premeaux Albert; nieces, Valerie Lee and Lily Albert; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews; and best friend, Aaron “Arty” Ortego.
James was preceded in death by his step son, Brad Bergeron and grandparents, Mert and Essie Yonge along with Roy and Louise Premeaux.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. John Locascio officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service, and following the services Jimmy will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
