Allen "Shine" Anthony Deslatte

Allen Anthony Deslatte February 9, 1929 – September 6 2009 Allen Deslatte, better known as “Shine”, a native of Morgan City, died at his residence on Sunday Sept. 6, 2009. “Shine” enjoyed the simple things of life, including hunting, fishing, and cooking. The thing that he loved the most was the joy that his family brought to him. “Shine” is survived by his loving wife Marina “Rena” Deslatte, his sons: Patrick Dehart and his wife Linda, Rickey Dehart and his wife Rebecca, and Warren Dehart and his wife Challie all of Morgan City; his daughters: Debbie Navarro and her husband Ricky, and Glenda Rice and her husband David all of Morgan City, his brother Harry Deslatte and his wife Rena of Morgan City, he is also survived by his sisters: Ruby Aucoin and her husband August and his sister-in-law Carmen Deslatte of Morgan City, and his numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. “Shine” is preceded in death by his parents Telesphore and Ella Deslatte and his brothers Joe and Roland Deslatte and two grandchildren: Jason Dehart and Paul Rice. Visitation will held on September 8, 2009 starting at 9am until 11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Morgan City. The Mass of Christian burial will begin at 11am at the church. “Shine” will be laid to rest at the Morgan City Cemetery immediately after the mass.
