Alvin Joseph Crochet Jr., 86, a resident of Amelia, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Alvin was born on February 6, 1931 in Houma the son of Alvin J. Crochet Sr. and Flavia Giroir Crochet.
Alvin served his country proudly in the United States Army serving from 1955-1959. He was a boat captain navigating the waters for most of his life.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three sisters, Dianne Sharp of Berwick, Geraldine Ashley of Ila and Catherine Kirkland of Livingston; three brothers, Anthony Crochet and wife Mona of Gibson, Gerald Crochet and wife Janet of Livingston and Camille Crochet of Labadieville; four nieces, Bridget Bergeron and husband Jared , Penny Hanks, Tessie Latiolas and husband Scott and Christina Pitre; one nephew, Gerald Keil.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin J. Crochet Sr. and Flavia Giroir Crochet; three sisters, Emma Lou Sauce, Calma Trahan and Phyllis Pervus; three brothers, Bruce Crochet, Ackline Crochet and Kenneth Crochet.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Twin City Funeral Home with Brother Clyde officiating. There will be a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service, and after the services Alvin will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad.
