Loraine C. Fields a life long resident of Morgan City passed away on September 16, 2009 at the Morgan City Health Care Center. Loraine loved her family, her faith, her many flowers and food. She loved to cook, almost as much as she loved to eat seafood, especially crabs. She was mama or grandma to any and all who needed one. Anytime you came into her home she’d have anywhere between 6 and 13 vases of fresh flowers from her yard. She was tenderhearted and loving and will be sadly missed by all whose lives she has touched in her 88 years on this earth.
Loraine is survived by her daughters; Sheila McFarland of Morgan City, Andrea Pyle and her husband, Thomas, of Denham Springs, Paula Ford of Independence, and her son Dennis J. Fields and his wife Lady, of Denham Springs, 17 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, one sister-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law.
Loraine is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Eugenia Callahan, her husband of 65 years, Tilden J. fields, her son Mark W. Fields and two grandchildren, T. Jay Pyle and Hope Sands, 3 brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held on September 18, 2009 beginning at 6pm until 9pm at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City and will resume at 9am until 11am at Holy Cross Catholic Church on Saturday 19, 2009 with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11am. Lorraine will be laid to rest at the Morgan City Mausoleum at the Morgan City Cemetery.
