Velma Dupre’ Scully March 30, 1933 September 17, 2009 Velma D. Scully a life long resident of Morgan City passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma, Louisiana. Velma retired from Bailey’s Seafood after working in the seafood factories for 40 plus years. She loved her family and always worried about their well being more than her own. When entering her home she made sure you were not either hungry or thirsty. She loved to cook for you and she loved her flowers both inside and outside. Velma will be sadly missed by all that knew her. Velma is survived by her companion of 19 years Mr. Leroy Breaux of Amelia, her four sons; Edward Scully Jr. and his wife Patty of Morgan City, Roger Scully and his wife Renee’ of Bayou Vista, Anthony Scully and his companion Shelly Duval of Amelia, and Sterling Scully of Amelia, five sisters; Barbara Comeaux and her husband Heuy of Amelia, Thelma Kennerson of Bayou La Batre, Alabama, Katherine Coolee and her husband Edward of Luling, Mary Palmature and her husband Carl of Morgan City and her brother-in-law, Buddy Bowen. Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Scully Sr., her parents Sterling and Ellina Dupre’ and three sisters; Martha Bowen, Eve Dupre’, and Lydga Dupre’ Visitation will begin at 6pm until 9pm on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Twin City Funeral Home and will continue on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 9am until 11am at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Amelia. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately at 11am. Velma will be laid to rest in the St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery.
