Gary “Blackie” Lee Sr, 73, a resident of Bayou L’Ourse, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Blackie was born on September 8, 1943, in Morgan City, the son of William Lee and Gertrude Ward Lee.
Blackie was a family man who loved spending time with his three boys. He also loved his job as a welder and his passion for welding was very strong. Blackie also loved to go to the casino, where you could find him quite often.
Blackie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Alberta Duval Lee of Bayou L’Ourse; three sons, Gary Lee Jr. and wife Theresa, Terry Lee and wife Belinda and Kevian Lee and companion Shelly all of Bayou L’Ourse; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marie Estelle and husband Henry of Bayou L’Ourse;
Blackie was preceded in death by his parents William and Gertrude Ward Lee; one brother, Linwood Lee; one sister, Barbara Lee Aucoin.
The family will receive friends and family from 5:00pm until 9:00pm on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 9:00am until 1:00pm on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at Twin City Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00pm. Blackie will be laid to rest in Morgan City Cemetery.
