Marie Rozier Moore
September 3, 1914
November 15, 2009
Marie Rozier Moore passed away in her home, in Patterson surrounded by loved ones, early Sunday Morning, November 15, 2009.
“Memmie”, as she was affectionately called, was born on September 3rd 1914 in the small town of Townsend, Ga., to Richard and Mandy. She and her twin sister, Sue, were two of 13 children.
At some point, Memmie decided to make the move to Tampa, Florida. The warmth of the Sunshine State was something that she loved and kept her in Tampa for 50 years. While there, she proudly served her customers at the Ninety-Niner a local restaurant in town. She loved the work that she did and it showed in the smile that she greeted each table and guest with. In her later years, Memmie chose to live in Patterson, LA so that she could be close to her family.
While living in Patterson, she and her husband, the late Joseph W. Moore, were members of Bethel Pentecostal Fellowship. She loved to spend her days shopping and would ask each day if anyone “needed” to go to the mall, Wal-Mart or even the Dollar Store. Afterward you could count on a long lunch, usually at Ryan’s.
Memmie will be remembered and missed by her daughter, Margie Angeron and her husband Ivy, of Verdunville and her son Julius Rozier and his wife Hazel of Townsend, GA. Also left to treasure her memory are her grand-children, Ava and Dean Angeron of Hollister Missouri; Artie and Diane Angeron of Houma, LA; Adrian Angeron, of Verdunville; Alan and Millie Angeron of Patterson; Ivy and Terry Rozier of Ga.; Kim and Robert Eastwood of Ga.; Kent Rozier of GA.; and Don and Judy Rozier of GA. Among her many blessings were 18 great-grand children and eight great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mandy Rozier, 12 siblings and her loving husband Joseph Warren Moore.
The visitation will take place on Friday, November 20, 2009 at Twin City Funeral Home starting at 10am until 2pm and resume on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 9am until 11am. The service will start at 11am at the funeral home. Memmie will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
