Anthony Rock Sr.

Anthony Rock October 27, 1917 December 9, 2009 Anthony C. Rock, Sr. 92, a life long resident of Morgan City, youngest and last from a family of 13 children, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 12:30pm. Anthony was a proud grandpa of nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He also was a WWII Navy veteran, a 34 year employee of Mobil Oil and a member of Sacred Heart Church in Morgan City. He was a loving son, brother, husband and dad. Anthony will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Louise Daigle Rock, two sons; Anthony C. Rock, Jr. and Michael P Rock, and one daughter Louella M. Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marie Rock Sr., his daughter Gail Ann Trippe and her husband, David Trippe. He is also preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters. Visitation will begin on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Twin City Funeral Home. The visitation will resume on Monday, December 14, 2009 at the funeral home at 9:00am until 10:30am and a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11:00am and he will be laid to rest at the Morgan City Mausoleum. Anthony will be buried with full military honors provided by the East St. Mary Veterans’ Funeral Squad.
