Misty Welch

Misty Chapman Welch September 21, 1978 December 12, 2009 Misty Chapman Welch, a native of Morgan City, passed away at her residence in Berwick on December 12, 2009. Misty was a loving daughter, sister, mother and friend who worked hard to take care of her children. She was very close to her family and enjoyed spending time with her two children and their dog, Tiny Bug. They were her breath. Misty enjoyed working at Tampico’s for nearly 15 years just as much as she enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. She will be tremendously missed by people who knew her at work and outside of work. Misty may be gone from our sight, but she will never be forgotten. She will live on in our memories and in spirit and one day she and her family will be reunited never to be separated again. So, rejoice in the Lord for what is to come! Misty, all your family and friends love you and will miss you and you will always be in our hearts forever more. Misty is survived by her two children; Jesse Welch III and Kaitlyn Welch of Bayou Vista, her ex-husband, Jesse Welch Jr. of Florida, her mom, Dolly and Step-father, James Gonzales of Morgan City, two brothers; Gary Durocher of New Iberia and Raphael Chapman Jr. of Pierre Part, and four sisters; Karen Phillips of Bayou Vista, Tracy Rhodes of Berwick, Chasity Massicot of New Orleans and Brittany Chapman of Morgan City. She is survived also by three nieces; Courtney, Daina, and Carlyssa and eight nephews; Chad, Peyton, Jeff, Ashton, Travis, Jeremy, Trennon and Matthew. Misty was preceded in death by her father, Raphael Chapman Sr., of Ville Platte, and her grandparents, Hebert and Connie Durocher of Morgan City. Visitation will be on Friday, December 18, 2009 beginning at 9:00am until 1:00pm and the service will begin at 1:00pm at Twin City Funeral Home. Misty will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Misty’s name at Morgan City Bank and Trust.
