Lennis J. Paray, 70, a resident of Morgan City and a native of Amelia, passed away at Teche Regional Medical Center, Friday, December 18, 2009. Lennis was a man of many talents throughout his life. Early in his life he was a commercial fisherman and then a Towboat Captain. Lennis retired from the City of Morgan City as a supervisor of Water & Drainage. Lennis enjoyed fishing, cooking and was a diehard “Saints” Fan, but he loved to watch wrestling with his son Lenny Charles. Lennis will be missed by his family and friends.
Lennis is survived by his daughter, Lindy L. Sauce and her husband Clyde of Berwick, four sons; Lennis F. Paray and his wife Brenda of Berwick, Charles E. Paray and his wife Paula of Patterson, Leslie P. Paray of AR and Lenny Charles Paray of Morgan City. Lennis is also survived by one brother, William Paray and his wife Lela of Broussard, five sisters; Karrie Lange and her husband Wilbert of Berwick, Emily Thibodaux and her husband Rodnis of Bayou L’Ourse, Martha Overbay and her husband “Chip” of Marrero, Alice Paray of Lafayette and Julie Paray of Patterson. Eleven grandchildren, Brian Blankenship, Jennifer Landry, Kalli Paray, Lennis R. Paray, Kasey Rink, Erin Howse, Mark Sauce, Dustin Paray, Derek Paray, Mary Paray and Leslie Paray, 11 great grandchildren also survive Lennis.
Lennis is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alice Fryou Paray, one brother, Harry Paray, one grandchild, Charles Edward Paray Jr., two great grandchildren, John M. Rink and Ariel Lynn Landry.
The visitation will be held Monday, December 21, 2009 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 9pm, resuming Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Twin City Funeral Home from 9am until 11am. The funeral service will commence at 11am. Lennis will be laid to rest in the St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery.
