Floriece “Flo” Hepler Besse, 90, a resident of Morgan City and a native of Biloxi, MS., passed away, Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Teche Regional Medical Center. Flo was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. She was an avid golfer and a member of the St. Mary Country Club, MCHS Band Boosters, City of Morgan City Recreation Commission, City Centennial Commission and Hephaestus Mardi Gras Krewe.
Flo is survived by seven daughters; Mary B. Blanchard of Morgan City, Wanda B. Coleman and her husband Wayne of Morgan City, Ruth B. Ortis and her husband Calvin of Patterson, Helen B. Solar and her husband Charlie of Morgan City, Floriece “Flo” B. Tisdale and her husband Robert of Morgan City, Honorine B. Mier and her husband Michael of Broussard and Charmaine B. Oubre and her husband Michael of Bayou Vista. Flo is also survived by one brother, William Hepler of Morgan City, one half brother, Ronald Hepler and his wife Sally of Austin, TX., 19 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.
Flo is preceded in death by her husband, Harold F. Besse, one granddaughter, Angie Mier, one grandson, Joseph Siracusa, one great granddaughter, Nicole Price, one brother, Warren Hepler and a son-in-law Carroll Blanchard.
The Pallbearers to serve will be Flo’s grandsons, Todd Blanchard, Brian Coleman, Harold Siracusa, James Siracusa, Charlie Solar Jr. and David “Bubba” Tisdale. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Flo’s son-in-laws; Wayne Coleman, Calvin Ortis, Charlie Solar, Robert Tisdale, Michael Mier and Michael Oubre.
The visitation will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 8am until 10am. A Mass Of Christian Burial will commence at 10am with Father Greg Fratt officiating. Flo will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
