Elma Marie Barras

Elma Marie Hidalgo Barras September 16, 1922 December 26, 2009 Elma Marie Hidalgo Barras, 87, a native of Franklin, a resident of Morgan City, passed away December 26, 2009 in Morgan City. She is survived by her son Edgar L. Barras, Jr. and his wife Rita of Pierre Part, and one sister Bessie H. Mayon of Morgan City. She had 6 grandchildren, Tammy B. Templet, Ken Barras, Dane Barras, Amanda B. Guillot, Ryan Barras and Shane Barras. She had 6 great-grandchildren, Cassie, Michelane, Luke, Taylor, Alen and Alex. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar L. Barras, Sr. her son Sidney J. Barras, her parents Caliste and Zulama Hidalgo, three brothers, Earl, Leo and Roy Hidalgo, and one sister Dorothy H. Pusateri. Visitation will start at 12:00pm until 2:00pm, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately and she will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
