Phillip A. Autin, a native of Morgan City and a resident of Amelia passed away on Monday, December 28, 2009. Phillip grew up hunting and fishing and was a joy to be around. He loved his nieces and nephews very much and treated them as if they were his own children. Phillip was a second daddy to them and they looked to him as such. Phillip’s family will miss him very much, but will never forget his kind heart and all the good memories they have had with over the years.
Phillip is survived by his parents Wilton and Barbara Autin Sr., two brothers; Benny Autin of Broussard and Wilton Autin Jr. and his wife Gerry of Amelia, one sister, Lela Autin McMichael and her husband, Terry of Sulphur, three nieces; Amy, Sabrina, Kendra, three nephews; Bruce, George, and a very special nephew, Benjy six great nieces; Ashley, Harley, Maddy, Michela, Bailey, Cierra, three great nephews; Caleb, Bryce, Little George, and four God-Children; Cierra, Benjy, Jamie and Joanna his God-Children.
Phillip was preceded in death by his grandparents; Benjamin Autin and Gertrude Autin McCann and Phillip and Helen V. Ohmer.
Phillip’s visitation will start on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 6pm until 9pm at Twin City Funeral Home and resume on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 9am until 11am. The service will begin at 11am at Twin City Funeral Home and the Rev. Lamar Oliver will be officiating. Phillip will be laid to rest in the St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery in Amelia.
Phillip will be buried with full military honors conducted by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad.
