Captain Wilber Jessie Sons, Sr. January 3, 2010 October 6, 1927 On January 3, 2010, Wilber Jessie Sons, Sr., went to meet the Lord. He was born on October 6, 1927. As a young boy, he helped support his family by trapping and commercial fishing with his father. He was senior boat captain for over 50 years. Besides being a devoted boat captain, he trained his sons and many other men to follow in his footsteps. Along with his love for boats, he had a passion for hunting and fishing. Most of all he loved his family, friends and God himself. He is survived by four sons: Wilber Sons, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Berwick; Terry Sons and his wife, Donna of Freeport, FL; Kerry Sons, Sr. of Bayou Vista and Tommy Heard of New Caney, Texas. He is also survived by two daughters; Susan Perdue and her husband, Mack of New Iberia and Sandra Harp and her husband, Ricky of New Caney, Texas. He is also survived by one brother, Oristille Sons, Jr. of Patterson and one sister, Rosie Miller and her husband, I.T. of Bayou Vista. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; Peggy Sue Clark, Robert Holt, Nathan Bourgeois, Kathleen Heard, Jenny Heard, April Heard, Brett Legnon, Brian Sons, Tom Sons, Jesica Hickam, Robin Sons, Alisia Sons, Patricia Sons, Monica Sons, Kerry Wayne Sons Jr., Shane Lancon, kelly Lancon, Richie Firmin, Regina Firmin, and Shanna Bryan, and along with numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Oristill Sons, Sr. and Jessie Givens Sons Hagen, five brothers; Burl, Homer Sr., James, Floyd and Earl Sons, and two sisters; Rachael Sons Toups and Winnie Sons Hinkle. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 starting at 9am until 9pm at Twin City Funeral Home and resuming on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 9am until 1pm and the service will start immediately at 1pm. He will be laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery.
