John T. Nope Jr.

John T. Nope Jr. September 3, 1931 January 5, 2010 John T. Nope Jr., 78 passed away January 5, 2010. A native of Bayou Boutte and a resident of Morgan City, John was born September 3, 1931. He was an active member of Pharr Chapel Methodist Church. He was a simple and humble man. There were many thing that brought joy to his life. A couple of things were talking on the phone to family and friends, and spending time with his grandchildren, daughter and son-in-law, son and daughter-in-law and beloved wife of 43 years. John is survived by his loving wife, Lois Templet Nope, one daughter Margaret Lynn Nope Dupuy and husband, James “Jimmy” Dupuy, one son, John Glenn Nope and his wife Carey Landry Nope, three grandchildren; Austin James Nope, Justin Allen Dupuy and Jamie Lynn Dupuy and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his father John T. Nope Sr., mother Ophiela Nope, two brothers; Charles Duval and Lester Duval. Visitation will be at Pharr Chapel Methodist Church today Wednesday, January 6, 2010 starting at 6pm until 9pm and resuming Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 10:00am until 1pm with the service beginning at 1pm officiated by the Rev. Lemar Oliver. John will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted along with memorials made to Pharr Chapel in John T. Nope Jr.’s name.
