Margaret Adrienne Husband Russo, a lifelong resident of Morgan City born August 31, 1916, passed away January 5, 2010 at the age of ninety three. She was the daughter of the late Frank Joseph Husband, Sr. and Vivian Kinsey Husband.
Margaret never met a stranger. She was also known to many as “Ma Ma Russo” because of her generous heart in making them feel like family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends as they referred to her as a beautiful, “unique” lady.
Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Madeline Russo of Tucker, Georgia and Mary Margaret Russo Berry and her husband, Ronald, of Morgan City, and one son, James “Jimmy” Russo and his wife, Lynne, of Morgan City and a daughter-in-law, Lucy Lipari Russo. Fourteen Grandchildren, Reverend Michael J. Russo, Michelle R. Ducharme, Joseph C. Russo III, Mark A. Russo, Jodie R. Nugent, Frank A. Russo, Jr., Janese R. Siragusa, Jeff A. Russo, Julie R. Thibodeaux, Terry H. Rackley, Jr., Ryan J. Russo, Matthew W. Russo, Chad J. LeBoeuf, and Brooke A. Berry and 27 great grandchildren. One sister, Elizabeth “Liz” Husband Bailey of Morgan City, and one brother, Raymond C. “Sonny” Husband of Morgan City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Charles Russo, Sr., two sons, Frank Andrew Russo, Sr., and Joseph Charles Russo, Jr. and a stillbirth baby girl. She was also preceded by her parents, one brother, Frank Joseph Husband, Jr., three sisters, Mary Ruth Husband Henry, Erminie “Sis” Husband Ratcliff and Virgie “Cookie” Husband Duval.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City from 6pm until 9pm and continuing on January 7, 2010 at 8:30am until 10:00am. The Rosary will be prayed Wednesday night beginning at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 7 at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mrs. Russo’s grandson, Fr. Michael Russo, pastor of Our Lady of Fatima in Lafayette will celebrate the mass with a hosts of concelebrating priests.
The family would like to particularly thank Mrs. Russo’s caregivers, the staff of Morgan City Health Care and the physicians’ and hospital staff of Teche Regional.
