George Edward Canty III, 43, a resident of Berwick and a native of Morgan City, went home to his maker on Saturday, January 9, 2010 in Houma. George loved life and all people. His favorite pastime was fishing. He enjoyed hunting and being at the camp. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. Always with a helping hand and ready smile, there was nothing he wouldn’t do or give. He will be sadly missed by his family and all the lives he has touched.
George is survived by his parents George Canty Jr. and Una Canty of Berwick, two brothers, Shawn Canty and his wife Tammy of Berwick, Bannon Canty of Berwick, one sister, Gwendolyn Canty Tellman and her husband Douglas of Berwick. George is also survived by four nephews; Glynn Guidry Jr., Sean Canty, Nicholas Canty, Seth Canty, two nieces, Tarrin Canty and Nicole Canty, two great nieces, Angel and Lilly Guidry and one great nephew, Payton Guidry.
George was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, George Sr. and Sidney Canty, Mitchell and Eunice Bruney and two brother-in-laws.
The visitation will be Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 9pm, resuming Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Twin City Funeral Home from 9am until 10am. The funeral service will commence at 10am on Wednesday, January 13, 2010. George will be laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery.
