Jimmie F. Ray December 22, 1920 January 21, 2010 Jimmie F. Ray, a native of Roundaway, Mississippi and a resident of Berwick passed away at his home on Thursday, January 21, 2010. Jimmie was a WWII veteran who was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, three Bronze Battle Stars, one Oak Leaf Cluster Good Conduct Medal and the Purple Heart Medal in 1945. Jimmie was also a member of the V.F.W. for 40+ years and a very proud American. His family is very proud of him and what he accomplished in life and he will be sorely missed by them. Jimmie F. Ray is survived by his son, Calton Ray and his wife, Alta Leann of Oregon City, Oregon, his daughter, Marta Mire and her husband, Floyd of Morgan City, two sisters; Dollie Sue Ray of Greenville, Mississippi, and Muzette Dunaway of Savage, Maryland and one brother-in-law, Jim Calton and his wife, Joan. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Scott and Shane Mire, Brian Ray, and Tina Moullett and her husband, Mike, and three great grandchildren; Emily and Nick Moullett and Jordan Mire. Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife, Bertie Calton Ray, his parents, Albert Ray and Electa Ray Kimbrell and three brothers; Charles, Elmer, and Samuel Ray. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 1pm in the Berwick Cemetery Mausoleum. Jimmie will be laid to rest with full military honors conducted by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad. Flowers will be accepted at Twin City Funeral Home and contributions may be made in his name to the church of your choice.
