Merideth, better know as “Aunt Merris” or “Mary” was born at Bayou Sheaffer, LA. She celebrated her 100th birthday at her home in Morgan City, surrounded by her family and friends who loved her very much. She was a very special lady. Her family and gardening was her life passion.
Mary passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at her home in Morgan City surrounded by her five children and several grandchildren.
Mary was survived by her five children; Helen Toups of Stephensville, James Rink of Morgan City, Betty Romaire and her husband, Donald of Baton Rouge, Wayne Rink and his wife, Ellen of Stephensville and Warren Rink and his wife, Kay of Houma. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by Alcide Rink, her husband, of 42 years, her parents James and Safruni Moore, her son-in-law Lewis Toups and great granddaughter, Ali Rose Aucoin, and two brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 6:00pm until 9:00pm and will resume on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 9:00am until 11:00am at Twin City Funeral Home. The service will follow immediately at 11:00am officiated by the Rev. Lamar Oliver of Pharr Chapel Methodist Church at Twin City Funeral Home. Mary will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
