Donna Lynn (Hopkins) Couvillier
January 31, 1945 — February 18, 2010
Donna was born in Urania on January 31, 1945, to Thomas “Red” Loran and
Geneva “Billie” (Bonner) Hopkins.
Their family relocated to the Bayou Vista area in the early 1950s where
they resided and lived their lives. Donna married Dudley Michel and had
one beloved son, Michael Wayne in 1961. She later married George J.
Cuvillier in 1987.
Donna decided to transfer to her son’s home in the summer of ’09 to have
her family’s support during her brave battle with cancer. After a very
short time, on February 18, 2010, Donna went to be with our Lord. Her
memorial service will be held at Higher Ground Family Church in
Stephensville. Pastor Ronnie Cuvillier will administer her services.
Donna enjoyed meeting and sharing life’s stories with everyone she met.
She really enjoyed bowling in her early days, and caring for and
traveling with family in her later days. A very special thanks to Gina,
Jon and Lula for inviting her on the trip to the West Coast this past
summer; it meant so much to her. She was a gentle, care-giving type who
possessed a memory like no other. (She even remembered the meal fed to
her in the hospital after a surgery 1984.) If you needed a phone number
or an address, she was the one to contact. Donna was always referred to
as “The Family Consultant.” She will be greatly missed and is truly
loved by all her family and friends. Very special thanks go to a good
friend, Elizabeth Jefferson, for her assistance during her final days.
Donna is survived by her family, her son, Michael Wayne Grow and wife,
