Eldridge Joseph “E.J.” Bertrand Sr. January 14, 1930 March 25, 2010 Eldridge Joseph “E.J.” Bertrand Sr. a native of Rayne and a resident of Morgan City passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Teche Regional Medical Center. Mr. E.J. served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until 1956. He enjoyed camping with the Bayou Ramblers, working in his garden and cooking for a host of family and friends. Mr. E.J. is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Emma Chaisson Bertrand, four daughters; Donna Sue Jones and her husband, Edward, Faith Ann Wilson, Monica Governale, and Deborah Keller and her husband, Donald, one son, Eldridge Joseph “E.J.” Bertrand Jr. and his wife, Chary. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Danielle Arceneaux and her husband, John, Karen Burch and her husband, Charles, Jackie Wilson, Emma Dorics and her husband, Troy, Nick Governale Jr., Robert Keller and his wife, Kim, Jessica Feliciano and her husband, Juan, and Christie Dragna and her husband, Lee, and great grandchildren; Katie Arceneaux, Jesse Arceneaux, Charles Burch, Juan Feliciano Jr., Allie Dragna, Brendan Keller, Nicholas Feliciano, Cecily Feliciano, and Andrea Dragna. Mr. E.J. is also survive by his sister, Ida Bertrand Falgout. Mr. E.J. is preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Bertrand and Edith Thibodeaux Bertrand, daughter Lisa Ann Bertrand, Grandson, Justin Thomas Wilson, Three brothers, James, Herbert, and Harry Bertrand, five sisters; Anaise Theriot, Alma Boudreaux, Florence Derise, Thelma Goulas and Mary Lou Percle. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at 6pm until 9pm at Twin City Funeral Home and will resume at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, March 29, 2010 starting at 8am until 10am with a Mass of Christian Burial starting at 10am. He will be laid to rest with full military honors provided by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
