Wilma Catherine Kiff Alpha

Wilma Catherine Kiff Alpha a native of Morgan City and a resident of Bayou Vista passed away on Monday, April 5, 2010 at her residence. Wilma was a charter member of the St. Bernadette Alter Society, a founding committee member of St. Bernadette Parish, and a regular participate and member of the Bayou Vista Rosary Group. She taught catechism at St. Bernadette and was a Eucharistic minister along with being a member of the Catholic Daughtersof the Americas. Wilma enjoyed being involved with the Girl Scouts of America and continued managing the concession stand for Berwick Band Boosters for 17 years after her children left high school. She will also be remembered for her compassionate heart as a Pink Lady at the former Fairview Hospital in Bayou Vista.
Wilma is survived by her six daughters: Wilma May Subra and her husband, Clint of New Iberia, Marcella “Mutsy” Baudoin and her husband, Richard of Lafayette, Rose Marie Guidroz and her husband, Billy of Bayou Vista, Theresa deBeche-Thibodaux and her husband, Drew of Lafayette, Martha St. Romain and her husband, Blaine of Bayou Vista, Denise Smith and her husband, Dan of Bayou Vista, one sister, Jeanne Kiff Picou of Morgan City, and 18 Grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Smith Alpha, her parents, Taylor Benjamin Kiff and Marie Berset Kiff, one great grandchild, Catherine Guarisco, two sisters; Lumina Plessala Thevenot, and Luella Kiff Rody, and two brothers; Edville Plessala, and Hughes Kiff.
Visitation will take place today, April 6, 2010 starting at 6pm until 9pm at Twin City Funeral Home and will resume on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 10am until 1:30pm at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will start at 2pm at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Bayou Vista. Wilma will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following the mass.
