Hazel Marie Hernandez Cormier, a native of Carencro and a resident of Amelia, died at Morgan City Health Care here in Morgan City on Sunday April 25, 2010.
Hazel was a excellent cook with her specialties being gumbos. She enjoyed working in her yard keeping it clean. Music, especially French music, and dancing were one of her favorite pastimes. She loved listening to a good joke and could tell one herself at the family gatherings that she loved so much. Her favorite ball club was the Atlanta Braves as she spent many hours watching them. Hard work never bothered her as she picked cotton and potatoes as a young lady. Hazel was very respectful of others rights, and she instilled this respect in her children. She was a person that never met a stranger, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a Catholic by faith.
