Elise Guidry Michel, 92, died on June 25, 2010 at the home of her daughter.
Elise was born in Plaquemine, Louisiana on September 24, 1917.
Elise was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who spoke often of the pride she had in the family God had given to her to teach, inspire and love. She enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables, spending time at her camp visiting with family and friends, fishing and reading anything she could get her hands on.
Elise is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Drew and Peggy Michel of Houston, Texas; and a daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Tommy Broussard of Morgan City; four grandsons, their wives and children, T.J. and Janet Broussard and their children, David, Laura and Sarah; Mark and Claire Broussard and their children, Mark, Jr. and Caroline; Drew and Stephanie Michel and their sons, Evan and Caden; and John and Sara Broussard and their daughter, Elyse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy “Buster” Michel, her mother Aline Trahan Guidry and her father Dominique Guidry, her brothers, Herd, Cyril, Charles “Chalie” and Andrew Guidry and her sisters, Inez Callais and Rita Smith; also, sister-in-laws, Florence Guidry and Gladys Guidry and brother-in-laws, Adrain Callais and Bob Smith.
Visitation will be at Twin City Funeral Home on June 28th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and at Holy Cross Catholic Church from 8:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29th. Elise will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
