Thelma Adams LaCoste January 21, 1929 - August 13, 2010 Thelma Adams LaCoste was born January 21, 1929 in Bayou Taylor to Frank Adams and Cornelia DeHart Adams. She went home to be with her Heavenly Father on August 13, 2010. She was a member of the Bayou Chene Missionary Baptist Church. Thelma was a very loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She loved cooking for her family. Every family gathering she had to make her homemade fresh baked bread, for Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years her cornbread dressing was at the top of the menu list. One of the families special treats was her steen syrup popcorn balls. If we’d list all the favorite foods she prepared for her family the list would be never ending. Thelma at one time managed and cooked at her own take-out diner. She also worked side-by-side her husband supporting their family through trapping, alligator hunting, craw fishing, shrimping and cat fishing. Thelma is survived by two daughters, Geraldine LaCoste Lovell and Myra LaCoste Eckols and her husband Royce; three sons, David LaCoste and his wife Sandra, Oscar LaCoste Jr. and Kent LaCoste and his wife June; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Thelma was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald La Coste, her second husband of 56 years, Oscar LaCoste Sr.; her daughter, Susan LaCoste; her son, Kurt LaCoste; her parents, Frank and Cornelia Adams; 8 sisters and 2 brothers. The visitation will be held Monday, August 16, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation resume Tuesday, August 17, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Twin City Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be David LaCoste, Oscar LaCoste Jr., Kent LaCoste, Archie Vining Jr., Leroy Lovell Jr., Leeland Lovell, Ryan Gaspard, Jody LaCoste, Christopher Eckols, John David LaCoste and Joel Floyd II. She will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Twin City Funeral Home.
