Walter “Pops” Philip Flores Jr. February 6, 1927 August 18, 2010 Walter “Pops” Philip Flores Jr. a native of Mannsfield and a resident of Morgan City passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Morgan City Health Care. Walter was an Army Veteran and was very proud of his service to his country. Walter is survived by his four sons: Bobby Flores of Morgan City, Boone Flores and his wife, Monique of Bayou Vista, Richard Flores and his wife, Diane of Houston and Edward Flores and his wife, Kimberly of Houston; three daughters: Annie Purgason and her husband, Danny of Conroe, TX, Jeanette Daugherty and her husband, James of Palmer, TX and Betty Gresham and her husband, Darrell of Patterson along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Annie Flores Sr.; his wife, Irene Flores; one sister, Georgia Mae Hilburn and two grandchildren. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Twin City Funeral Home starting at 10am until 9pm and resuming at the funeral home on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 9am until 2pm. Pops’ service will begin at 2pm. The East St. Mary Veteran’s Funeral Squad will perform a military service.
